|| Wound Healing (CTR-2)

The company has performed in collaboration with the CRO BioQuant (La Jolla,CA) Proof of Concept in animals (mice and pigs) to assess efficacy of the protein HMGB1 (two dosages: 400ng and 600ng) in Wound Healing. PoC positive outcome suggest the company to undertake Toxy, PK, PD studies. The company will soon start studies designed to elucidate the mechanism of action of HMGB1 and the specific cascade of events that it triggers in order to affect the wound healing process.

HMGB1 in wound healing study results (mice/pigs):

- Significant reductions in half time to healing were observed with both doses of HMGB1 (400ng and 600ng) and PDGF treatment compared to vehicle treatment. When the half time to healing in HMGB1 treated wounds at both doses were compared to that in the PDGF treated wounds significant reductions to half time to healing were observed with both doses of HMGB1 compared to PDGF.

- HMGB1 400ng dosage vs PDGF shows improvement on day 7, 14 and day 21, both dosages (400mg/600ng) show improvements for collagen deposition and fibroblast infiltration.
