Further to the preliminary encouraging data in animals already obtained in Cartilage Repair (CTR-1), Bio3 Research is developing, under its PCT WO 02/074337 (patent already Granted in Italy and Australia) and in collaboration with two California based companies, the use of the protein HMGB1 and its fragments in Wound Healing (CTR-2).

Preliminary encouraging data in animals already obtained with CTR-1 suggest the potential use of HMGB1 for the preparation of therapeutic agents which facilitate and/or induce connective tissues regeneration also in other damaged connective tissues:

Bone matrix;

Bedsores;
Burns;
Tendons and ligaments repair;
Ocular scars.

Further studies are planned to validate the preliminary data.
