(CTR-1/HMGB1) Under its PCT WO 02/074337 (patent
already granted in Europe, Mexico and Australia) Bio3 Research has conducted,
in collaboration with Veterinary Faculty of Milano University, preliminary
pharmacological animal studies by utilizing HMGB1 in Cartilage Repair
with encouraging results.
(CTR-2/HMGB1)
The company has also performed in collaboration with
the CRO BioQuant (La Jolla,CA) Proof of Concept in animals to assess
efficacy of the protein HMGB1 in Wound Healing. PoC positive
outcomes suggest the company to undertake Toxy, PK, PD studies which will soon start studies aimed also at elucidate the
mechanism of action of HMGB1 and the specific cascade of events that it
triggers in order to affect the wound healing process.
The company has already conducted a
Pilot Tox study in animal showing no toxicity up to 80 times the
pharmacological active dose.
(CTR-3/HMGB1)
The encouraging pharmacologicaldata in animals obtained in different
connective tissues have lead the company to device a new project aimed at
assessing HMGB1 efficacy in Bone Matrix.
Preliminary
encouraging pharmacological data in animals already obtained with CTR-1
