CT301/R is a liposoluble small molecule with a potent indirect inhibiting effect on HMGB1, resulting in anti-proliferative and anti-migration effects on BASMC and BAEC cells. While the mechanism of action is under investigation, this feature opens the possibility of applying CT301/R to new clinical indications such as restenosis and cardiovascular disorders, through systemic administration or through drug-eluting stents. A PCT application was filed in July 2005 jointly with Creabilis Therapeutics (Italy).
